LoneStar AgriTech Hops

Every journey begins with the first step, and for LoneStar Life Sciences, being the first greenhouse technology to grow hops all year round is that first step. LoneStar’s Indoor hops project will focus on correcting the shortage of hops for the craft beer market and expand quickly into supplying plant-derived extracts for more viable and efficacious natural alternatives as compared to synthetic pharmaceutical medicines.

LoneStar Hops for Beer:

LoneStar aims to solve the hops shortage for the craft beer market with a year round production of controlled environment hops. Fresh hops grown outdoors are only available once a year in September and October – which triggers the celebration of the hops harvest better known as “Octoberfest.”

In addition, hops only grows outdoors in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho), and is limited to only 750 plants per acre per year. In contrast, by controlling the temperature, light, humidity, water and nutrition all year round, LoneStar can grow over 10,000 plants per acre x three times a year, which is more than 30,000 plants per acre per year. That is 40x more hops per acre per year. LoneStar AgriTech would be the first year round commercial hops grower in the world.

LoneStar Hops for Healthcare:

Hops is a distant cousin to cannabis and has significant medical capacity – just like cannabis. There is a polyphenol compound only found in the hops flowers called Xanthohumol (pronounced zantho-hu-mol or XN). When extracted and purified, research has shown XN to be a natural medicine for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, pain, and auto-immune disorders.

  • Kills over 60 cancers
  • 41% drop in insulin requirements for diabetics
  • +20% drop in weight gain reducing metabolic syndrome
  • 80% drop in LDL (bad cholesterol), 18% increase in HDL (good cholesterol)
  • 78% drop in IL-6 (inflammatory marker for chronic pain, allergies and asthma)
  • 10X more potent of an anti-oxidant than vitamin C
  • Proven anti-microbial (antibacterial) and anti-viral (stops herpes and shingles).
  • Powerful phyto-estrogen

In addition, XN is currently only available from Germany and costs over $24,000 per liter. In comparison, high quality CBD is around $1,000 per liter. This makes XN more profitable than cannabis – and nobody in North America makes it.

With LoneStar’s capacity to grow more than forty times the hops yield per acre per year,  we will be the sole source for medical grade XN in the US – and with zero competition.
